Trevor Monsoon

Biography

Trevor’s particular interest in pollination began at the age of 16 in the 1960’s, when local Italian growers noticed their glasshouse cucumbers were not pollinating as they should. Through careful observation Trevor developed a way of enticing bees into the crop and rewarding growers with a bountiful harvest. He and his father, Mo Monson, were the first to supply bees for almonds in NW Victoria, and again, it wasn’t long till Trevor worked out better placement techniques that were far easier for beekeepers and produced higher yields for growers. His extensive experience and pioneering methods have been invaluable for government research and advice, agriculture, and beekeepers and growers of most crops, including almonds.
