Biography
Simon Williams completed a MSc at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, NZ looking at regional variations in the strength of Leptospermum scoparium (Mānuka) trees within New Zealand. He then spent some time as a Visiting Scholar in America working on the production of charcoal, followed by a small period working in a commercial testing laboratory in NZ. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Qld under Dr. Peter Brooks. He has spent the last three years investigating Australian Leptospermum and their production potential of medical honey. Within in this time, he has sampled trees from every state and published two identification guides for Leptospermum.
